Back to Work
Well, I found this lurking in my Drafts folder. I forgot to publish it. Silly me. I have been extremely busy and haven’t had time to write anything. Everyone keeps asking when will I update. Within the next couple of weeks I’ll be back to normal. The wedding will be done and I’ll be ready to focus on other things. I’m still recovering from my accident, so I lost some work time and trying to get the kids school year started just took everything right out of me. In the meantime, enjoy this post that never got published. I’ll have to tell you about my accident later.
Well, it’s back to work now. With being on vacation and being ill, I haven’t had a lot of time to write.
First vacation. My family and I had a wonderful time this year at Pine Cove. This was our second year going there and what a treat. Usually when we would go on vacation I would always come back more tired than when we left. Even though on vacation, I still had to entertain and take care of my kids, but do it in a strange place. lol. However, at Pine Cove they take care of all of that for you. The camp counselors there are so wonderful. They take the kids off to day camps and on adventures parents have time to rejuvenate. They take care of the little ones too. Plus they take care of breakfast, lunch and dinner and do not allow you to get up to do anything. There’s even two nights a week where it’s parents only. Now that’s a vacation! We just loved Pine Cove and the kids had so much fun. I’ll post some pictures soon of our time there.
Next, the dress. The gown has entered into another stage, but I’ve chosen not to post the picture. It is so close the final dress, that I don’t want to spoil the outcome. The bride came out and tried it on with the lower lace pinned in place. Even filled with pins the gown looks exquisite. She brought her mom, grandma and future mother-in-law with her. It was quite a scene as each of the ladies admired the dress and the tears started to flow, reminding me of why I love to do this. The wedding is in October, so the dress will be finished soon (relatively speaking), so you readers won;t have to wait too much longer to see the final dress. I have to make a few minor alterations to body of the dress then the work of putting the lace on will begin. I’ve chosen to remove all of the netting from the lace in order to place it directly on the sheer overlay between the bands. It is a lot of work but will give the dress such dimension that it will be totally unbelievable.
I’m off to take care of the kids now. I’ll write more later.
Something to think about: How can you be salt and light if you’re not too salty, nor very bright?
